Eleven dulcimer lullabies for all ages, from unborn to elder. Rick Scott says it's never too late for a nap, just ask Grandpa.
SNOOZE MUSIC is a grandfather's prayer for his children and grandchildren. Rick’s 6th family recording features 10 original cradle tunes plus Stephen Foster's classic SLUMBER MY DARLING (1862) arranged for dulcimer, voice, cello, viola, violin, cello, guitar, bass, music box, trombone and tuba. Six of the tracks are instrumental.
Introducing vocalist/new mom Andrea L'Heureux, who went into labour the night of her 1st vocal session and gave birth to Sonam, her beautiful daughter with our recording engineer Anthony Maki.
Artwork combines handcrafted drawings, lettering and marginalia by Rick with drawings by Kari Burk in all cardboard packaging.
"When the last lullaby is over
Do the instruments sleep
And do they have musical dreams?
When the final song is gone
And there is no more
Do the instruments snore?
Goodnight to the violin, goodnight to tuba too
Lay the trombone in its case
Bass, sweet dreams to you.
The cello and viola put their bows away with care
And resting on the wall again
My friend the dulcimer..."
'This unique and timely recording combines wonderfully compatible musical talents in an intoxicating blend. Gentle music that cradles one in its comforting arms, this is Rick Scott at his most tender.'
