About CAHOOTS

Dulcimer ace Rick Scott, producer Valley Hennell and keyboard wizard Robbie King were in musical cahoots for decades. Here’s their very first studio session, plus a one-time one-song cahoot with Celtic funk dervishes, Rare Air, on CD or MP3.

  1. Come Home (3:02)
  2. Find Love (3:53)
  3. Hurt So Long ( 3:49)
  4. The Lovers (4:51)
  5. Outside (4:14)
  6. The Search Is On (3:29)
  7. The Longest Day with Rare Air (4:00)

Tracks 1-6 were recorded in a single day, live from the floor in 1984, with Connie LeBeau on bass, Jerome Jarvis on drums, and Robbie’s inimitable piano holding down the groove and painting lyric into melody. Recorded in Vancouver at the original Blue Wave Studios with engineer Brian Campbell.

Track 7 Scotland meets Scottland - Rick fell in love with Rare Air at first listen! He wrote The Longest Day so he’d have an excuse to play with them. That finally happened in this single all-night session with Grier Coppins &Patrick O’Gorman on bagpipes, Trevor Ferrier on drums & percussion, and Dick Murai on guitar, bass & vocals. Recorded at Mushroom Studios in 1985.
All songs by Rick Scott (dulcimer and vocals), mixed and mastered for CD by Anthony Maki, Etched In Sound, Protection Island, BC
